AOX/EOX Analysis

Systems for sample preparations

  • AP 2P Column Method Option
The AP 2P Adsorption Pump is an automatic adsorption system for sample preparation for AOX analysis acc. to the column method in compliance with DIN EN 1485 and ISO 9562. The system allows simultaneous processing of two samples of a volume of 10...225ml with the washing volume also being selectable between 10 and 225 ml. Sample volumes, washing volume and flow rate are electronically controlled. The program run includes aspiration of sample and nitrate wash solution and an automatic multiple washing step that prevents carry over especially in the enrichment of samples of high salt contents. The LCD screen for clear display of nominal values of sample and washing volumes as well as of the actual sample and washing volumes ensures easy operation of the adsorption module.
The rugged mechanical pressure system allows a high pressure to be applied and features a high particle-handling capability.
The use of sterile syringes that may be replaced when necessary efficiently prevents carry over and cross contamination.
The system is compatible with adsorption columns of other make thus allowing universal use.
  • APV 26 Adsorption System
Fully automatic sample preparation system for AOX analysis according to the column method as per DIN EN 1485 and ISO 9562 incl. control computer and initial kit.
The APV 26 Adsorption System allows easy and convenient preparation of up to 26 samples, for instance for overnight runs, for AOX analysis acc. to the column method as per DIN EN 1485.
Unlike conventional systems, the individual samples are processed strictly sequentially so that the first samples are available within a few minutes. The samples can be analyzed on every AOX analyzer.

  • DF 3U Pressure Filtration Unit
The DF 3U Pressure Filtration Unit is suitable both for processing AOX samples by the batch method and the column method. It can simultaneously process up to 3 samples of up to 180 ml volume.
The water/activated-carbon or water/activated-carbon/slurry mixtures produced in shaking are pressed into quartz containers by the overpressure of up to 2 bar produced by a pump. The quartz containers are accommodated in a fixture that is directly screwed to the sample vessel. The transfer of the activated carbon or the activated carbon/slurry mixture into the quartz container is performed quantitatively. As filters are not being used, a filter blank need not be taken into account.
When the filtration unit is used for sample preparation acc. to the column method, duplex or triplex columns are screwed to the sample vessel. The flow rate is predefined by the integrated nozzles.
When requested, the pressure pump may also be pressurized with an inert auxiliary gas.
All components are chemically resistant and can be easily cleaned.
Pressure-tested sample vessels as well as a front door made of acrylic glass ensure the necessary operational safety.

Autosampler

  • APG 36
Autosampler for multi X® 2000 for max. 36 quartz containers (18 x 6) (column method). Autosampler for automatic feed of up to 36 quartz containers from sample preparation according to the column method. The electronic monitoring system ensures safe operation. Cross-contamination and ambient influences are excluded by the use of a cover.
Conversion from column to batch method is by a simple change of the turntable.
  • APG 25
Autosampler for multi X® 2000 for max. 25 quartz containers (20 x 10) (batch method). Autosampler for automatic feed of up to 25 Quartz containers from sample preparation according to the batch method. The electronic monitoring system ensures safe operation. Cross-contamination and ambient influences are excluded by the use of a cover. Conversion from batch to column method is by a simple change of the turntable.

Modules

  • EOX module for direct injection with autoinjector
EOX module for the determination of EOX with the AOX/TOX analyzer multi X® 2000. The samples are directly injected the special reactor through a septa. The controlled injection is accomplished by an autoinjector.
  • EOX module for direct injection with autosampler
EOX module for the determination of EOX with the AOX/TOX analyzer multi X® 2000. The samples are directly injected into the special reactor through a septa. The injection is accomplished by a programmable autosampler for up to 32 (optionally 105) samples.
  • POX module for AOX analyzer
System for the analysis of volatile organic halogen compounds in water as well as in soil and slurry.

Extra

  • Automatic H2SO4 replacement unit for multi X® 2000
The automatic sulfuric acid replacement unit allows problem-free unattended long-term operation of the multi X® 2000 even with those analytical methods usually involving the generation of larger quantities of water and thus a faster dilution of sulfuric acid in the drying vessel, such as the slurry method, EOX analysis. Moreover, it adds to the already existing high operating comfort in using the multi X® 2000. The software of the multi X® 2000 permits the regeneration cycles of the sulfuric acid in the drying vessel as well as the volume to be freely selected. An acid-resistant pump module evacuates the used up sulfuric acid from the drying vessel into a waste vessel and conveys new sulfuric acid from the dispensing vessel into the receiving flask.
  • Upgrade Kit multi X® 2000 for cooled coulometer cell
A control system keeps the electrolyte temperature of the coulometer cell below room temperature thus avoiding premature vaporization of electrolyte and permitting large sample batches to be analyzed without the need for exchanging the electrolyte.
Reliability and long-term stability are increased and the signal-to-noise ratio improved.
  • AQS software
The multiAQS software was specially designed for the multiWin® software package. It provides data transfer from the multi X® 2000 AOX analyzer and from the multi N/C®. Besides, it allows manual entry of optional measurement results for control cards as per DIN standard.
